Online Adjunct Faculty Humanities and Mexican American Studies. Dallas College.

Designed and taught an asynchronous college course about the humanities and Mexican-American Studies using the institution learning management system Brightspace (D2L). Duties include designing, planning, and organizing the course LMS shell and syllabus, creating course content for an online class, creating and grading assessments online, and searching and using Open Educational Resources in class. Develop and supervise students' online activities, grading assignments, organizing grades online, and selecting multimedia materials related to the course.


Adjunct Faculty, Alamo Colleges, San Antonio, TX (2015- Present)

Since 2016, I have designed the online courses I teach. Since 2020, I have taught all courses online, synchronous, and asynchronous. I taught online using Canvas and open educational resources. The classes I create are student-centered thinking, making my students' learning experience organized and easy to follow. In 2021, I became a volunteer online course peer reviewer. Following the Quality Matters Review Standards from the QM Higher Education Rubric, Sixth Edition (2018), I reviewed online courses from different instructors before they were published on Canvas. 

 

Online Lecturer Latino/a Studies. San Francisco State University (August 2020-December 2020)

Designed and taught an asynchronous college course about the history of Latino/a journalism in the United States, emphasizing the role of women using the institution learning management system iLearn (Moodle). Duties include designing and organizing the course LMS shell and syllabus, creating course content for an online class, creating and grading assessments online, and searching and using Open Educational Resources in class. Develop and supervise students' online activities, grading assignments, organizing grades online, and selecting multimedia materials related to the course.

 

Online Lecturer Ethnic Studies. California State University East Bay, Hayward, CA (January

2020- August 2020)

Designed and taught a college asynchronous about the history of minority groups in the United States, focusing on Native Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, Latinx, and Mexican Americans. Duties include designing and organizing the course Blackboard Ultra shell and syllabus, creating course content for an online class, creating and grading assessments online, and searching and using Open Educational Resources in class. Develop and supervise students' online activities, grading assignments, organizing grades online, and selecting multimedia materials related to the course. 

 

Teaching Assistant I & II Cultural Studies, The University of Texas at San Antonio (2008–2012)

During my first doctoral studies semesters, I assisted professors with the design and teaching of

an upper-level hybrid cultural studies course directed to education college students. The course was a culturally responsive/awareness course required for future teachers. During the two last semesters of my doctoral studies, I was entirely in charge of the same course. Duties included creating the course Blackboard site, developing and supervising students' class activities (both in the classroom and online), presenting lectures, grading assignments, organizing grades on Blackboard, and selecting media materials.
